Women's Volleyball Preps for PSAC Playoffs with Senior Day Match vs. Lock Haven

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University took a set from PSAC East regular season champion Lock Haven but fell 3-1 to the Bald Eagles in a preview of Tuesday's PSAC quarterfinal match-up on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Sophomore outside hitter Alyson Stark had eight kills and seven digs, senior setter Amilee Schillinger had 23 assists and five digs, and senior middle blocker Caitlin Kuhn recorded three kills and five blocks for the Warriors.

Lock Haven (26-4, 12-0) dropped a set for just the third time in 12 conference matches, winning the first two 25-13 and 25-14 before ESU won the third set 25-23. The Bald Eagles closed the match out at 25-18 in the fourth.

ESU (15-20, 5-7) will be making its second appearance in the PSAC playoffs in the last three years. The Warriors will play their quarterfinal match at Lock Haven on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Four seniors - Kuhn, Schillinger, Kim Dormer and Linsey Sewalk - were honored prior to the match on Saturday.

Kuhn holds ESU's single season and career records for blocks, with 125 blocks this season and 408 in her career. She also ranks seventh in school history with more than 800 career kills.

Dormer's career total of 1,197 digs is fifth all-time at ESU and she has 539 digs this season. Schillinger has put together a solid season with 910 assists, 219 digs and 41 blocks in her only year as the Warrior's setter, and Sewalk has 109 kills and 38 blocks as a senior.
