NEW LONDON, Conn. - Junior Christine Swiker broke East Stroudsburg University's record in the 400 IM at the Camel Invitational for the third straight year to highlight the Warriors' day in the pool on Saturday at Connecticut College.
Swiker touched in 4:44.95, lowering her record of 4:46.60 which she set last December. She won both the 200 and 400 IM and was just over a half-second off the school record in the 200 with a time of 2:13.88. She was also second in the 50 fly (28.35).
Sophomore Sarah Roscioli won the 100 breast in 1:10.54, was second in the 50 breast (32.40) and third in the 50 free (25.69). Senior Sally Kaminski was second in the 50 free with a time of 25.57 seconds.
The 400 medley relay team of freshman Lindsay DuAime, Roscioli, Swiker and Kaminski placed second. The 200 medley and 800 free relays both finished fourth, and the 200 free relay was fifth. DuAime had the Warriors' other top 10 individual finish, placing seventh in the 100 back.
ESU wrapped up its fall semester schedule and will spend a week in Puerto Rico over the holiday break before returning to campus in January. The Warriors will swim in five duals and host the ESU Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 7 as they prepare for the PSAC Championships later that month.
