Delaware Valley Takes 28-10 Decision over ESU

DOYLESTOWN - Delaware Valley, ranked No. 4 in the NWCA Division III poll, won six of the nine bouts to defeat East Stroudsburg University 28-10 on Friday night.

Senior Sean Carr (141) earned his 20th win of the season for the Warriors with a 3-1 overtime decision against Dan Hall, who is ranked second in Division III.

Redshirt sophomore Shane Mallory (174) picked up his second straight major decision by a 12-4 score over Mike DiGregorio to improve to 17-10 on the year.

Senior Dave Williams also won his match for ESU with an 8-2 decision over Joe West at 197 pounds. Williams has posted three straight wins, the first two by fall, since returning to the ESU lineup on Sunday against Franklin & Marshall.

Delaware Valley opened the match with a 2-0 decision by Brandon Clemmer over Matt Swallow at 133 pounds. The Aggies took three straight bouts, all by decision, at 149, 157 and 165 before Mallory's major decision for the first bonus points of the night at 174.

Delaware Valley won three of the final four bouts, the first by forfeit at 184 pounds. Kyle Bilquist pinned ESU's Chris Birchler in 1:28 in the match-up at heavyweight, and Chris Sheetz ended the night with a major decision at 125.
