Bucknell Winter Classic Results

EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Rusty Smith set the school record in the 60m hurdles on Friday at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational and won the 55m hurdles at the Bucknell Winter Classic on Saturday to highlight a busy weekend for the East Stroudsburg University indoor track and field team.

Freshman Steph Weber also broke her own school record of 10-4 in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10-6 1/4 at Bucknell.

Smith was one of several Warriors who competed against a national field at the Armory in New York City. He lowered his record time in the 60m hurdles from 8.37 to 8.25, and won the 55m hurdles at Bucknell in 7.61, pacing the field by nearly four-tenths of a second.

Senior Iuri Pinto was the top Division II finisher in the mile, placing sixth with a time of 4:14.69. Matt Gallup also led all Division II athletes in the pole vault with a height of 15-3 to tie for ninth. Shane Burrows tied for fourth in the pole vault at Bucknell.

At Bucknell, freshman high jumper Lynn Mayer and the men's distance medley relay squad joined Smith in the winner's circle.

Mayer tied for the top height in the high jump at 5-5, and teammates Leslie Martin and Trina Carito tied for third at 5-3. Ryan Kramer tied for second at 6-4 1/4 in the men's high jump.
