OSCEOLA, Fla. - East Stroudsburg University's softball team fell to 0-6 on its spring break trip to the Rebel Spring Games with two losses on Tuesday, 6-0 to Southern Indiana and 4-3 to Southwest Minnesota State.

The Warriors opened their trip with a pair of close losses on Sunday, falling 3-2 to Northern Kentucky and 2-0 to Northwood (Mich.). They fell to C.W. Post (6-2) and Southwest Minnesota State (7-1) on Monday.

Freshman outfielder Jamie Mingis has led the offense, going 8-for-19 (.421), including a 4-for-4 day at the plate against C.W. Post.

Freshman Brittany Racek was 2-for-3 in the opener against Northern Kentucky and helped the Warriors tie the game at 2-2 with a pair of runs in the fifth inning. Senior Missy McAloon started the rally with a single and Racek followed with another base hit and moved to third as McAloon scored on an error by the leftfielder. Racek came home on a wild pitch to knot the score at 2-2, but Northern Kentucky pushed the winning run across in the sixth.

Northwood won the second game on Sunday despite a solid outing in the circle from sophomore Jackie Battaglino, who threw a complete game and allowed just one earned run as Northwood scored twice in the second inning.

The Warriors battled back in their second game with Southwest Minnesota State on Tuesday, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game in the fifth. McAloon again started the rally with a walk, moved all the way to third on a sacrifice bunt by Mingis and scored on a squeeze bunt by Racek who beat the throw to first.

The runners moved up on a wild pitch and Ali Hale doubled to the gap in right center to bring in Mingis. Racek scored on an RBI single by Candice Pastor to level the score.

Southwest Minnesota scored its final run in the bottom of the seventh after Kristen Halvorsen got a strikeout with the bases loaded, but the cleanup hitter dropped a single into left center for the winning run.

The Warriors are off on Wednesday, and will play St. Xavier and Minnesota-Duluth on Thursday.
