PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia University earned a 5-4 win over the East Stroudsburg University men's tennis team and took a 7-2 decision in the women's match-up in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Julian Taibi won both his singles and doubles matches for ESU, teaming with classmate Rob Mikolon for a 9-8 (7-5) win at second doubles and earning a 6-4, 6-1 win at fifth singles.

ESU also won the third doubles contest as Will Norris and Ryan Baxter put together an 8-4 victory.

Freshman Jared Howat posted a comeback win at third singles, overcoming a 6-1 loss in the first set to win 6-2 and 10-7 in the third-set tiebreaker.

The Warriors dropped close contests at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, as sophomore Kyle Doebler and Norris both fell 7-6, 6-4, to ultimately decide the match.

Freshman Jamie Ferrigno posted an 8-2 victory in the fourth singles match for the ESU women, and junior Sarah Deisher and sophomore Marissa Tanner took an 8-1 win at third doubles.

Ferrigno and Katie D'Ambrosia fell 8-4 to Philadelphia's standout No. 2 doubles pairing of Christina Kettle and Daniela Rodrigues.

ESU will wrap up the weekend with a trip to Adelphi on Sunday.
