ESU Falls to No. 4 West Chester in PSAC Lacrosse Semifinals

WEST CHESTER - Stephanie Kienle scored four goals and set the NCAA Division II record for assists in a season to lead No. 4 West Chester to a 21-4 win over East Stroudsburg University in the PSAC lacrosse semifinals on Tuesday afternoon.

The Warriors finish the season with an 11-7 record, tying the school record for wins, and made their first PSAC tournament appearance since 2005.

Three seniors accounted for the four ESU goals. Eileen Sanderson scored on an assist from Katie Fretz, Maniscalco found the net twice and Fretz finished the Warriors' scoring on an assist from freshman Molly O'Hara.

Fretz finishes her career with 118 goals, eighth in school history, and Maniscalco had 111 goals and 49 assists in her career at ESU.

West Chester led 2-0 through the first nine minutes before scoring six goals in the next 3:10 to put the game away. Kienle and Jackie Baker both scored four goals for the Golden Rams.

Junior Kirstin Mayberry made 11 saves for the Warriors.
