SHIPPENSBURG - Senior Renee Maniscalco scored a career-high seven goals to help East Stroudsburg University improve to 7-2 with a 13-9 win at Shippensburg in PSAC lacrosse on Saturday.

Maniscalco, an All-PSAC selection in each of her first three years, scored the Warriors' first three goals in a span of 2:58 early in the game and tied her career-high with five goals in the first half to give ESU a 10-7 lead.

The Warriors (7-2, 5-2 PSAC) scored the final four goals of the half with Maniscalco having a hand in three of the tallies. She scored an unassisted goal with 5:13 left in the half to tie the game at 7-7, then assisted on the second goal of the season by freshman Christina Mongiori 18 seconds later that gave ESU the lead for good.

Senior Katie Fretz scored off a pass from senior Eileen Sanderson, and Maniscalco and Fretz hooked up for the final goal of the half with one second remaining to give ESU a three-goal cushion.

Shippensburg (2-6, 2-4) scored just over three minutes into the second half, but the ESU defense stepped up and held the Raiders scoreless for more than 20 minutes. Maniscalco scored twice and sophomore Sara Foley also found the net to extend the lead to 13-8 before Shippensburg added a late goal to set the final margin.

Junior goalkeeper Kirstin Mayberry made eight saves and senior Janelle Cronmiller gathered 10 ground balls to lead the defensive effort.

ESU's seven wins are tied for the most in a season since the 2000 squad set the school record with 11 wins.

The Warriors host defending PSAC champion West Chester on Monday at 4 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
