EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Monica Gombita scored the game's first goal on an assist from junior Kierstyn DeNardo as East Stroudsburg University made its debut on the FieldTurf at Whitenight Field with a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia University on Thursday afternoon.

The Warriors quickly added to their lead when sophomore Caitlin Brownley scored the second goal of the game at the 14:55 mark of the first half, and ESU went into the half with a 2-0 lead over the Rams.

The second half opened just as the first did with the Warriors striking early. Sophomore Brittany Kocis scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Brownley. ESU tacked on another unassisted goal by junior Kahla Doran on a rocket that found its way past the goalkeeper 5:17 into the second half.

Philadelphia found the back of the cage late in the game when Lauren Piontkowski scored off of a penalty corner to end the scoring.

Senior Carolyn Kisling played the first 65 minutes in goal for the Warriors and was replaced by freshman Maureen Ordnung. Anne Strobel went the distance in the cage for the Rams.

The Warriors travel to Stonehill on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. for their next contest.
