Warriors Women's Volleyball Finishes 3-1 Weekend at Wilmington

NEW CASTLE, Del. - Sophomore outside hitter Alyson Stark had 13 kills in a 3-2 win over LeMoyne, and East Stroudsburg University went on to sweep Nyack to finish with a 3-1 record in its season-opening tournament this weekend at Wilmington University.

Senior libero Kim Dormer was named to the All-Tournament team with 51 digs in 12 games, including 23 in the Warriors' only loss, a 3-1 setback against Wilmington. Dormer had 20 digs in ESU's two victories on Saturday.

Stark led ESU in kills in all three matches that she played in and was one of five Warriors with at least seven kills in the five-set win over LeMoyne, along with senior Caitlin Kuhn (10), sophomore Emily Detter (9) and sophomores Brianne Bachman and Kayla Mahaffay (7 each).

The Warriors won the first, third and fifth sets against LeMoyne for a 25-21, 10-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-11 victory.

Bachman paced the ESU attack with seven kills and sophomore Lindsey Lullo had 20 digs in the final match of the weekend, a 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of Nyack.

ESU hosts West Chester in its first PSAC East match of the season on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
