ATHENS, W.V. - Senior Lynda Hicks scored the Warriors' first three goals for her second career hat trick and East Stroudsburg University posted its second straight shutout to open the 2008 season with a 6-0 win at Concord on Sunday.
Hicks scored twice in a 3-0 win vs. Davis & Elkins on Friday and had two first-half goals and another early in the second half against Concord. She scored 11 goals last season and has 25 for her career, fifth in school history.
Sophomore Kailyn Buckley netted the Warriors' fourth goal and freshmen Elva Composto and Eileen Boneck added the first goals of their collegiate careers to complete the rout.
Senior Jennifer Buckley and sophomore Lindsay Foder were both credited with two assists, and freshmen Linda Martine and Tiffany Cruz also had assists in the contest.
Senior Janine Turcio played the first 75 minutes in goal and freshman Melissa Myers saw her first collegiate action to combine on the shutout.
ESU will return to action next Saturday in its PSAC East opener at 12 p.m. at Kutztown.
