Freshmen Lead Men's Cross Country to Second at Lock Haven Invitational

LOCK HAVEN - Freshmen Doug Jankowski and Greg Laria both finished in the top 10 to lead East Stroudsburg University's men's cross country team to second place at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday morning.

Jankowski was sixth (26:49.7), Laria was eighth (26:54.9) and junior Pat Carr (13th), freshman Sean Norberg (15th) and junior Kyle Weir (17th) also ran well for the men's squad. ESU finished behind Lock Haven and edged Shippensburg by seven points for third.

Junior Niki Pasquarella finished sixth with a time of 23:15.6 and the Warriors women were fourth in a field of six schools. Sophomore Amy Moratz was 16th to give ESU another runner in the top 20.

ESU does not compete next weekend and will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Don Cathcart Invitational in Salisbury, Md.
