EAST STROUDSBURG - The Warriors were unable to take the fifth and deciding game, losing 15-10, to drop a close match with Alderson Broaddus on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
ESU (7-5) fought back after losing the first set of the match 25-12 by winning the next two, 25-21 and 25-18. However, the momentum swung back in favor of the Battlers in the fourth game as they won the game 25-20 to tie the match at two games each.
Senior Kim Dormer led ESU with 14 digs, while sophomores Emily Detter, Alyson Stark, and Lindsey Lullo all added 12 digs each. Stark also led the team with 15 kills on the afternoon and senior Amilee Schillinger had 37 assists in the contest.
Alderson Broaddus defeated Millersville 3-0 in their first match of the day before taking on ESU.
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Cheyney for two conference matches in PSAC East play.
