BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Sophomore Caitlin Brownley's breakaway goal 25 minutes into the game gave East Stroudsburg University a 2-0 lead and proved to be the game-winner as the Warriors downed C.W. Post 3-1 in PSAC East field hockey on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Molly McNeil scored on an assist from junior Kierstyn DeNardo 12:08 into the game to put ESU (6-4, 2-1) on the board first, and Brownley's fourth goal of the year gave the Warriors a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

The Pioneers (5-3, 1-2) replied early in the second half, as Amanda Nunn found the cage on an assist from Krystal Napolitano. ESU led 2-1 until the closing minutes, when sophomore Brittany Kocis gave the Warriors an insurance goal when she scored on a rebound with 2:30 left.

ESU held a 20-9 advantage in shots (14-4 in the second half) and forced C.W. Post goalkeeper Cortney Colern to make 13 saves. Senior Carolyn Kisling made four saves for the Warrors.

ESU will look to improve to 3-1 in conference action when it hosts Millersville on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
