BLOOMSBURG - Sophomores Will Norris and Ryan Baxter won 8-3 at first doubles for the Warriors' only point as Bloomsburg took an 8-1 win in East Stroudsburg University's fall men's tennis opener on Tuesday.
The Huskies posted a 9-0 win in the women's match, with sophomores Katie D'Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno pushing Bloomsburg's top pair of Alison Carney and Emily Palko before falling 8-6 in doubles.
Bloomsburg's second and third men's doubles teams both won 8-4. Norris dropped an 8-5 decision to Fernando Perez at first singles.
The women's second singles match was the most competitive of the day. ESU freshman Amanda Kaufman battled Alison Carney in a tiebreaker but ultimately fell 9-8 (8-6).
The ESU women will return Bloomsburg this weekend for the ITA East Regional, while the men travel to Ramapo in a week for their next match.
