SALISBURY, Md. - Freshmen Doug Jankowski and Greg Laria placed third and fifth, respectively, to lead the East Stroudsburg University men's cross country squad to the team championship over host Salisbury University on Saturday at the Don Cathcart Invitational. Junior Niki Pasquarella was fifth for the ESU women, who were fifth overall.
Jankowski ran the 8k course in 26:22, finishing 16 seconds behind the winner. Laraia was just behind in 26:38, and sophomore Chris Zadroga (11th) and juniors Dan Bowden (14th) and Kyle Weir (15th) helped give ESU a seven-point edge over Salisbury.
Freshman Amy Moratz, junior Rachel Ostroski, senior Amanda Bradbury and freshman Brooke Dunphy joined Pasquarella as the top five runners for the women's team.
