GARDEN CITY, N.J. - Brianne McDonnell scored three goals to lead Adelphi to a 5-1 win over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday in non-conference women's soccer.
McDonnell scored 2:43 into the contest and had one of Adelphi's three second-half goals in a span of seven minutes to put the game away.
Senior Lynda Hicks scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season for ESU (3-4-2) on an assist from sophomore Lindsay Foder to tie the score at 1-1 in the 32nd minute, but McDonnell regained the lead less than a minute later.
Caitlin Morrison and McDonnell extended the lead to 4-1 with a pair of goals within 1:13 early in the second half, and Kim Volinski added the final goal for the Panthers (5-3-1).
ESU opens a three-game homestand next Wednesday at 7 p.m. with a PSAC East game against Mansfield.
