ASHLAND, Ohio - The East Stroudsburg University wrestling program picked up a pair of victories at the Ashland Duals on Saturday, defeating the hosts 21-19 and outlasting Findlay 20-19. The Warriors fell to Purdue in their final match of the day.

Four Warriors posted two wins each - redshirt senior Matt Swallow at 133, sophomore Matthew Rizzo at 141, redshirt senior Scott Heckman at 149, and sophomore Ed Ebewo at 184.

Sophomore Jesse Dunn (157) and redshirt freshman Thad Frick (165) both earned decisions in the win over Ashland, completing a sweep of the 133 through 165-pound bouts to give ESU a 16-4 advantage. A technical fall by Ebewo at 184 gave the Warriors a 21-7 edge and sealed the victory before Ashland had pins in the final two bouts for the final 21-19 margin.

Against Findlay, Swallow won by decision, Rizzo had a major decision and Heckman won by forfeit as ESU went ahead 13-4. Findlay won the next two bouts by decision, but redshirt sophomore Jeff Jacobs turned the tide with an 8-0 major decision at 174 and Ebewo won 9-8 at 184 for a 20-10 lead going into the final two bouts. The Warriors forfeited at heavyweight, which meant freshman Trevor Salvatore's 6-1 setback at 197, avoiding a major decision, was enough to give ESU the 20-19 win.

Purdue won all nine bouts that went to the mat in a 49-0 victory to close the day. Swallow lost 3-2 to Carson Beebe at 133 pounds, falling just short of winning all three of his matches.

The Warriors travel to Franklin & Marshall for an EIWA dual on Friday at 7 p.m.
