RAMAPO, N.J. – East Stroudsburg University closed its fall 2009 tennis schedule with a pair of victories at Ramapo College on Monday, with the women winning 8-1 and the men shutting out the Roadrunners, 9-0.

Junior Jamie Ferrigno finished the fall with a 7-2 singles record and 37-12 career record with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Alexandria Potosnak at No. 3 singles. Ferrigno and junior Katie D'Ambrosia went 6-3 in the fall after an 8-1 win vs. Laura Strandberg and Brittany Pitts at first doubles, and D'Ambrosia won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles.

Strandberg won Ramapo's only point with a 6-4, 2-6 (11-9) win over ESU sophomore Amanda Kaufman in the first singles match. Kaufman and senior Marissa Tanner teamed up for an 8-0 win at second doubles and Alex Santoro and Amy McGrath won 8-1 at third doubles. The Warriors also received singles victories from Santoro at No. 4, Tanner at No. 5 and McGrath at No. 6.

In the men's match-up, the Warriors' first doubles team of Will Norris and James Norris wrapped up the fall with a 5-2 mark following an 8-3 victory. Junior Jared Rosenberg and sophomore Seth Heller won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles and sophomore Mark Covert and junior Zach Ontell won 8-0 at No. 3.

Will Norris dismissed Prasanna Fernando, 6-2, 7-5, in their No. 1 singles match, Rosenberg posted a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 and Covert outlasted Chad Rochman for a 6-4, 4-6 (10-4) victory at No. 3. James Norris, Heller and Ontell completed the singles flights with straight set wins.

The ESU women went 3-2 in the fall and the men were 2-2 in dual action. The Warriors will be back on the courts with a full schedule next spring.
