Box Score
MILLERSVILLE – Senior midfielder
Kierstyn DeNardo scored the game's only goal in the first half and sophomore goalkeeper
Maureen Ordnung stopped a penalty stroke five minutes into the second half as No. 3 East Stroudsburg University shut out No. 10 Millersville, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
Ordnung had eight saves for her third shutout of the season and denied Millersville's Krista Bupp on a penalty stroke that would have tied the game. Millersville (6-7, 2-4) held an 11-6 advantage in shots for the game and got off nine shots in the second half, but Ordnung came up with six of her eight saves to keep the Marauders off the board.
DeNardo's goal came on ESU's only shot of the first half on a pass from junior forward
Jessica Frantz, who recorded her ninth assist of the season. The Warriors (12-2) improve to 5-1 in the PSAC East and are one win away from securing their first PSAC playoff bid since 2002.
ESU won its third straight game going into Saturday's non-conference match-up at No. 2 Shippensburg, which is 14-1 and beat the Warriors 3-0 on Sept. 2.
