EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University's field hockey team has been selected to the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship field and will participate.

The tournament field includes six teams, with the top seed in both regions receiving a bye into the semifinals. ESU is the No. 3 seed in the South Region and will travel to face No. 2 Shippensburg on Saturday, November 7 at 1 p.m.

Bloomsburg is the top seed in the South Region, while the North Region is represented by No. 1 Stonehill, No. 2 Bentley and No. 3 UMass-Lowell. The semifinals and finals will be played on November 13th and 15th at Stonehill's W.B. Mason Stadium in Easton, Mass.

ESU has made four previous appearances in the NCAA Championships, competing in the Division III tournament in 1987, 1988 and 1990, and most recently the Division II Championships in 2001. The 2001 team won its semifinal game, 1-0 over Lock Haven, and advanced to the championship game, falling 4-2 to Bentley.
