ESU Women's Basketball Falls to Central State, 59-48, at Salem International

SALEM, W.V. – DeShundra Gober and Laura Longmire scored 12 points each to lead Central State (Ohio) to a 59-48 win over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon at the Joe Manchin Classic hosted by Salem International.

Senior forward DeAnna Rayam had her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds and senior guard Mel Villano had eight points, four rebounds and four assists. Freshman forward Mia Waring added nine points and four boards.

ESU rallied from a 34-18 halftime deficit to pull within five points with three minutes left, but the Marauders did enough at the foul line to hold off the Warriors' comeback.

Gober had 10 rebounds to complete her double-double and Brooklyn Morrow also had nine points and eight rebounds for Central State.

The Warriors take on Urbana (Ohio) in their second game of the weekend on Sunday at 1 p.m. before returning to campus for final exams next week.
