MECHANICSBURG - East Stroudsburg University junior Christine Swiker wrapped up her remarkable weekend by nearly setting another school record, finishing six-hundredths off the school record in the 200 fly, on the final day of the 2009 PSAC Championships at Cumberland Valley High School.
Swiker set ESU records in the 200 IM and 400 IM over the last two days and turned in a time of 2:14.66 in the prelims of the 200 fly, nearly equaling the mark of 2:14.60 that was set in 1981.
Swiker made the championship finals in all three of her events and finished eighth in the 200 fly on Sunday night. She was also fourth in the 400 IM and seventh in the 200 IM and made the NCAA "B" cut in both events.
Sophomore Sarah Roscioli qualified for the consolation finals in the 200 breast with a time of 2:32.13 and finished 16th, and senior Sally Kaminski swam the 100 free in 55.05 to beat her seeded time entering the championships.
Roscioli, Kaminski, Swiker and junior Heather Van O'Linda were 11th in the 400 free relay, finishing in 3:43.65.
ESU was 11th in the team standings with 99 points, the same spot the team finished in a year ago.
