MILLERSVILLE - Gladine St. Julien had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead Millersville to a 76-47 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's basketball on Wednesday at Pucillo Gymnasium.
Seniors Keri Cahill and Jackie Yandrisevits both scored a dozen points for ESU. Cahill tied her career-high with eight rebounds and added five assists, and junior center Alexa Detzi matched her career-high with nine rebounds.
A three-pointer by Cahill brought ESU within 55-42 with eight minutes left before the Marauders rattled off a 21-2 run to put the game out of reach. Cahill hit a three with a minute left to close the scoring.
Jenna Philo scored 12 points and Emily Balogh added 10, all in the second half, for Millersville (21-5, 10-3), which entered the night tied with West Chester for the PSAC East lead.
The Marauders opened a 13-2 lead to start the game before the Warriors battled back. A layup by Yandrisevits made the score 18-12 just past the midway point of the first half, and Cahill assisted on consecutive buckets by Detzi as ESU narrowed the margin to 20-16.
Millersville pushed its advantage back to double figures with the next 10 points, and led 33-21 at halftime after Yandrisevits hit a long three-pointer to close the half.
The Warriors scored four quick points coming out of the locker room before Millersville stretched its lead out to 20 with the first of two big runs in the second half.
ESU finishes the 2008-09 season on Saturday with a trip to West Chester.
