EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Sarah Roscioli won the 100 and 200 breaststroke and set the school record in the 200 to highlight the East Stroudsburg University Invitational, held Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Roscioli has set all three breaststroke records in her first two years at ESU after clocking a time of 2:30.42, 46-hundredths of a second faster than the previous record set by Kelly Wright in 2004. She broke the three-decade old record in the 50 earlier this year, and set the record in the 100 as a freshman.
Junior Christine Swiker tied for first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.55, the same time put on the board by Stephanie Palmeri of C.W. Post. Swiker was second in the 400 IM and third in the 200 fly for the Warriors.
Sophomore Amy Rowland was second in the 100 back, followed closely by freshman Lindsay DuAime, and Rowland was third in the 200 back.
Senior Sally Kaminski finished second in both the 50 and 100 free. Rowland was third in the 50 and junior Heather Van O'Linda was fourth.
Both ESU squads beat their seeded times in the final event of the day, the 200 free relay. Van O'Linda, sophomore Cait Fallon, sophomore Ashley Downs and Roscioli finished in 1:48.72, and Rowland, freshman Jade Geddrie, senior Cathleen Pellington and Kaminski posted a time of 1:49.82.
The Warriors are off next weekend and return to competition at the PSAC Championships, February 19-22, at Cumberland Valley High School.
