LAKEWOOD, N.J. - East Stroudsburg University held a 35-21 advantage in shots, but Christine Latteri made 17 saves and led Georgian Court to a 13-10 win in non-conference women's lacrosse on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomores Christine Bradley and Molly O'Hara both had three goals and classmate Morgan Knowles scored twice for ESU (1-3).
Ryan McGrath scored four of her five goals in the second half for Georgian Court (2-1) and Daryl Carr also had a hat trick with three goals.
The game was tied at 4-4 at halftime after Bradley scored with 56 seconds left, but McGrath and Carr both found the net in the first two minutes of the second period to give the Lions a 6-4 advantage.
ESU never led in the game but pulled within 8-7 with 20 minutes left after back-to-back goals by Bradley and Knowles. Alley Abbate came back with consecutive goals, at 20:02 and 14:18, and Georgian Court held off the Warriors down the stretch.
ESU plays two games on the road next week, traveling to Wilmington (Del.) on Monday and PSAC East foe Millersville on Wednesday.
