Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG - Ivana Babic scored the game-winning goal 8:11 into the first overtime period to lift No. 25 C.W. Post to a 2-1 win over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Babic had a hat trick in the Pioneers' 4-0 win at Bloomsburg on Saturday and was the leading returning scorer on a team that went 17-3-1 and played in the NCAA playoffs last season.

The Warriors found themselves down 1-0 just over a minute into the match when Lindsey Nick knocked in a penalty kick after a handball in the box. ESU maintained its composure and recovered, tying the game on a 20-yard shot by junior forward Kailyn Buckley at the 12-minute mark, and neither team had many chances until C.W. Post pressed late in regulation and broke through in the first overtime.

C.W. Post recorded four shots in the overtime period and outshot the Warriors 13-11 for the game. Nicole Fierro made one save in goal, while sophomore Melissa Myers had three saves for ESU.

The Pioneers returned seven All-East Coast Conference players off last year's conference championship team while ESU started five freshmen for the second straight match.

Buckley's goal was the seventh of her career. She has started all 44 games, primarily as a midfielder, since her freshman year at ESU.

The Warriors are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Chestnut Hill.
