EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior forward Caitlin Brownley scored on an assist from junior midfielder Joanna Reckley just under 10 minutes into the overtime session to give East Stroudsburg University a 3-2 win over visiting Merrimack College on Sunday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

Brownley scored twice in the Warriors' 3-2 victory against Stonehill on Saturday and picked up her second game-winning goal in as many games. She had four of ESU's 12 game-winning goals a year ago.

Junior forward Brittany Kocis had a hand in both of ESU's first two goals, assisting on the first goal of the game by junior forward Jessica Frantz at 14:36 in the first half and scoring her first goal of the season 6:07 into the second half. The Warriors had 23 penalty corners in the game, including eight in the final 10 minutes of regulation, but were unable to produce the go-ahead goal to send the game to overtime.

ESU (2-0) outshot Merrimack (0-2) 5-2 in the extra session which ended after 9:34 when Reckley took the ball to the end line and crossed it to Brownley, who found the cage for the third time this season.

Kerri Bergquist made 17 saves for Merrimack, with four coming in overtime, while sophomore Maureen Ordnung had 10 saves for ESU.

The Warriors will look for a 3-0 start when they host Shippensburg on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Whitenight Field. Shippensburg was tied for third and ESU was seventh in the NFHCA Division II preseason poll.
