CALDWELL, N.J. – Juniors Katie D'Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno and sophomore Amanda Kaufman all won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 as East Stroudsburg University opened the 2009-10 women's tennis schedule with a 9-0 win at Caldwell on Tuesday.
D'Ambrosia and Ferrigno also had an 8-1 win at first doubles to improve to 27-15 since their freshman year, and have been All-PSAC East in doubles in both of their first two years.
Kaufman, last year's PSAC East Freshman of the Year and an all-conference singles player, won at first singles for the Warriors and posted an 8-0 win at second doubles with freshman Rabecca Lausch.
Sophomore Angela Teri and freshman Amy McGrath won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles and McGrath (No. 5) and Teri (No. 6) also won their singles matches. Senior Marissa Tanner won 8-0 at fourth singles.
The Warriors are back in action this weekend at Bloomsburg with matches against Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst.
