WEST CHESTER – Heather Manorek scored 4:04 into the second half after a scoreless first 45 minutes and West Chester went on to earn a 2-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's soccer on Saturday.
Jenna Arnold added an insurance goal in the 84th minute for West Chester, which improves to 6-1 overall and 5-1 in conference action, and Lyndsie Bernardini made seven saves.
Sophomore goalkeeper Melissa Myers had six saves for ESU (5-3-1, 2-2-1). West Chester outshot the Warriors 12-6 in the second half after a 7-5 advantage in the opening period.
ESU hosts Bloomsburg on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a match-up between schools that met in the PSAC quarterfinals in each of the last two seasons. The Warriors won last year's postseason meeting, 2-1, and shut out the Huskies 1-0 in 2007 to advance to the semifinals both years.
