BLOOMSBURG – Slippery Rock took the first five singles matches and also won at second and third doubles to post a 7-2 win over East Stroudsburg University in women's tennis on Saturday at Bloomsburg.

Juniors Katie D'Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno earned an 8-6 win at first doubles over Slippery Rock's Laura Handy and Chelsea Gibson, and Amy McGrath won by a 6-4, 6-3 score at No. 6 singles for the Warriors' two points.

D'Ambrosia dropped a very competitive 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) match against Dunja Drmac at second singles and Ferrigno pushed Gibson in a 6-4, 7-5 loss at the third spot. Handy was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over ESU sophomore Amanda Kaufman at first singles.

ESU resumes play on Sunday at Bloomsburg with men's and women's matches against Mercyhurst.
