EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore midfielder Devon Miniscalco scored two goals, both on assists by junior forward Kailyn Buckley, in a four-minute stretch late in the second half to help East Stroudsburg University put away Charleston (W.V.), 5-1, in non-conference women's soccer on Sunday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

The Warriors (5-1) outshot Charleston 42-6 in the game and went ahead 1-0 on the first career goal by freshman midfielder Crystal Zerbe in the 16th minute, but were unable to break through again until the 73rd minute when Miniscalco gave ESU a 2-1 lead. Charleston tied the game at 1-1 when Taryn Conklin scored in the 23rd.

Miniscalco scored the go-ahead goal with 17:45 left, then found the net again with 13:52 remaining to give the Warriors a two-goal cushion. Freshman forward Moreen Hunsberger scored her first career goal at 12:01 on an assist from sophomore forward Megan Keiser, and sophomore forward Elva Composto netted the second goal of her career on a pass from Hunsberger exactly five minutes later.

Senior Michelle Ginn was credited with the win in goal for the Warriors after playing the final 37:20 and making two saves. Whitney Sharp had 16 saves for Charleston, including a stop on a penalty kick in the second half, to keep the Golden Eagles in the match for most of the afternoon.

Miniscalco scored a goal for the third straight game and has five goals on the season, tied for the team lead with freshman midfielder Marissa Spitler. ESU has scored 22 goals and has outshot its opponents 137-43 through the first six games.

The Warriors will take a 2-0 PSAC East record into next Saturday's match against Kutztown at 2 p.m. in the second game of a tripleheader at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
