KUTZTOWN - Chauntelle Schroeder scored 17 points and Vivian Melvin had 15 to lead Kutztown past East Stroudsburg University, 85-52, in the PSAC East women's basketball opener for both schools on Wednesday night at Keystone Arena.

Jennifer Scherer scored 11 points, including three three-pointers, for ESU (2-12, 0-1). Senior center
Alexa Detzi added eight points to tie her season-high.
The Golden Bears (10-4, 1-0) also received nine points each from Meredith Starr, Rachel Wisemiller and Melissa McQuade. Schroeder had 10 rebounds, McQuade had nine boards and Wisemiller recorded six rebounds and eight assists
