CHEYNEY – Stephanie Orji scored 24 of her career-high 31 points in the first half and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Cheyney to a 76-52 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's basketball on Saturday afternoon at Cope Hall.

Angel Stephens scored 16 points, 12 in the second half, Lutfiyya Muhammad scored 13 points and Shanira Blake had 10 points and nine rebounds for Cheyney (5-10, 2-2 PSAC East), which led 18-4 through the first seven minutes and held a 42-25 advantage at halftime. Orji scored 13 straight points for the Wolves midway through the first half.

Sophomore forward Jennifer Scherer tied her season and career-high with 13 points for the Warriors (3-14, 1-3), going 5-for-7 from the field, and added eight rebounds. Senior guard Mel Villano and senior forward DeAnna Rayam scored 12 points each.

ESU returns home to host Mansfield on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors are 3-3 at home and 0-11 away from Koehler this season.
