BOSTON, Mass. – East Stroudsburg University split a pair of matches at the Boston University Duals on Saturday, rallying from a 13-0 deficit to beat the host Terriers 22-16 and falling 42-9 to North Dakota State.

The Warriors dropped the first four matches against BU, three by decision by one, two and four points and the other by a nine-point major decision, before picking up five straight victories to earn the comeback win.

Redshirt sophomore Thad Frick (157) earned the first points of the day for ESU with a 12-4 major decision over Matt Morgenstern, and redshirt junior Jeff Jacobs followed at 165 with his second pin of the season and first in dual action with a fall near the end of the first period (2:47) against Andrew Swank.

Freshman Devon Passman (174), stepping into the lineup this weekend for redshirt sophomore Ken Monarque, got his first career dual victory with an 8-6 decision over Kyle Czarnecki which tied the match at 13-all.

ESU went ahead 19-13 when redshirt senior Shane Mallory received a forfeit win at 184, and junior Ed Ebewo won the match of the day for the Warriors with a 3-1 overtime decision in his bout with Brock Mantella at 197. Freshman heavyweight Will Weaver dropped a 1-0 decision to Carmen Rondash at the bottom of the lineup.

In the second match of the day, North Dakota State won eight weight classes, all by bonus points, for a 42-9 win over ESU. The Bison had three major decisions before picking up falls in their final five bouts.

Mallory was ESU's only winner on the mat with an 8-6 decision over Ken Moenkendick. Redshirt sophomore Andrew Arnold won by forfeit at 133.

The Warriors will take a 7-5 record into Monday's dual match-up with former EIWA foe Rutgers at 7 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse. The match will be televised, tape-delay, on Blue Ridge TV-13 on Monday night at 10:30 p.m.
