Box Score
INDIANA, Pa. – Freshman forward
Kerri McClay's goal with 1:09 remaining lifted East Stroudsburg University to its first road win of the year with a 1-0 victory at IUP in PSAC women's soccer on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper
Nicki Keiser made seven saves for the shutout in her second career start for the Warriors (5-7-1, 4-7), who won an important conference game as they stay alive in their bid for their fourth straight trip to the PSAC playoffs. IUP falls to 8-5-1 (6-5-1 PSAC).
Both of McClay's goals during her freshman season have been game-winners. She scored the Warriors' second goal in a 2-1 win over Millersville earlier in the season.
Keiser has 18 saves and has allowed just two goals, both to undefeated California, in her first 2 1/2 collegiate games for ESU. She had five saves in a scoreless second half at Shippensburg on Oct. 6 and five saves in a 2-1 loss vs. California in her first career start last Sunday.
ESU has two home games coming up this week, hosting Kutztown in a PSAC game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Chestnut Hill in a non-conference tilt on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
