EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University picked up a 3-0 win at Cheyney on Friday night and fell 3-1 to Kutztown on Saturday afternoon in PSAC East women's volleyball action this weekend.
Sophomore outside hitter
Kristina Perri and freshman outside hitter
Elizabeth Madden both had career-highs with nine kills in the match against Cheyney and senior setter Tatiana Lattimore had 24 assists in her first action of the year.
Freshman defensive specialist
Heather Norris posted 10 digs and seven aces and senior outside hitter
Emily Detter recorded five kills, five aces and seven digs as ESU won 25-7, 25-11, 25-6.
In Saturday's match at Kutztown, Madden followed up her effort from the previous day with eight kills, but the Warriors had a negative hitting percentage for the match, hindered by a -.207 mark in a 25-10 loss in the second set. Senior outside hitter
Alyson Stark had eight kills and seven digs and senior middle blocker
Brianne Bachman had six kills and three block assists.
Kutztown (17-7, 7-7) won the opening set 25-23 and took a 2-0 lead through two sets before the Warriors posted a 25-23 win in the third. The Golden Bears closed the match with a 25-18 score in the fourth set.
ESU travels to Philadelphia for a non-conference match at Holy Family on Wednesday before hosting three matches next weekend at Koehler Fieldhouse.
