EAST STROUDSBURG – Sophomore midfielder
Mallory Pope had a goal and three assists to lead No. 1 East Stroudsburg University to a 6-1 win over Slippery Rock on Sunday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
The Warriors improve to 12-1 one day after suffering their first loss of the season, 1-0 at Millersville on Saturday. ESU entered the week ranked No. 1 in the NFHCA Division II Coaches Poll for the first time in school history.
Pope scored the game's first goal and the first goal of her career midway through the first half and assisted ESU's second and third goals. Sophomore forward
Lauren Ventrella scored her second goal of the year and senior forward
Jessica Frantz scored her 24th goal of the season. Pope entered the game with three career assists, all this season.

Joanna Reckley added her fifth goal of the year on the 10th assist of the season by senior midfielder
Brittany Kocis to make the score 4-0 at halftime.
Senior forward
Caitlin Brownley finished the scoring with her fifth and sixth goals of the season. Brownley has 36 career goals, seventh all-time at ESU. Frantz is third in school history with 38 career goals over the past two seasons, and three players scored 37 goals for the Warriors.
Senior goalkeeper
Maureen Ordnung played all but the final four minutes and made eight saves. Lisa Belcastro was also credited with eight saves for Slippery Rock (2-10). Rebecca Coleman scored the Rock's goal just over three minutes into the second half.
The Warriors open the second half of PSAC East play on Wednesday with a trip to C.W. Post, then head to Shippensburg (10-0) next Saturday for the first of two non-conference games against the Raiders.
