EAST STROUDSBURG – Sophomore forward
Bridget Connell scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the 84th minute, to push East Stroudsburg University to a 3-2 win over Gannon in PSAC women's soccer at Eiler-Martin Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Connell doubled her career goal total on the afternoon, as she gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead in the first half and then found the net on an assist from sophomore midfielder
Breanne Ingargiola with 6:42 remaining to secure an important conference victory.
ESU's first goal, 13:13 into the contest, was credited as an own goal off a Gannon defender, and Connell scored on senior forward
Kailyn Buckley's assist in the 32nd minute to take a two-goal advantage into halftime.
Gannon got second half goals from Emily Martin in the 54th minute and Andrea Eisenhart in the 81st minute as the Golden Knights rallied but fell short as Connell found the game-winner.

Melissa Myers had five saves for ESU, with her counterpart, Sabrina Chirco, recording eight saves in the contest. ESU held a 14-9 advantage in shots on the afternoon, including a 9-3 edge in a two-goal first half.
The Warriors (4-5-1, 3-5) picked up three points in the PSAC standings as they look to move into position to contend for their fourth straight trip to the postseason. They head to Shippensburg for a conference clash on Wednesday at 5 p.m., then host PSAC leader California next Sunday at 1 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
