EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior outside hitter
Alyson Stark had 12 kills and 10 digs for the 10th double-double of her career to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 3-1 win over Queens on Saturday at the ESU State Farm Classic at Koehler Fieldhouse.
The Warriors lost their second match of the day in three sets to C.W. Post (27-25, 25-23, 25-16). A total of 12 matches were played over the two days of the ESU State Farm Classic, including ESU's PSAC East match against West Chester on Friday.
Stark moved into ESU's career top 10 with 170 blocks in her four seasons and went over the 900-kill mark over the weekend. Her 910 career kills rank sixth on the Warriors' all-time list.
Senior middle blocker
Brianne Bachman had two strong matches on Saturday, with six kills and no errors on 12 attacks against Queens, and seven kills, eight digs and five blocks against C.W. Post. Bachman broke into the top 10 in career blocks earlier this season.
Freshman middle blocker
Ashley Lesniak put down a career-high nine kills against C.W. Post, hitting .750 with no errors on 12 attacks. Freshman setter
Allye Preziosi had 26 assists and 22 digs, senior libero
Lindsey Lullo had 18 digs and senior outside hitter
Emily Detter added 10 digs.
Sophomore outside hitter
Kaitlin Behrens posted seven kills in the four-set win over Queens, Lesniak had six kills and five blocks and Detter notched four kills, eight digs and three blocks. Preziosi had 35 assists, seven digs and three blocks.
ESU (6-15) will play a non-conference match at Wilmington (Del.) on Tuesday before heading to western PA next weekend for PSAC matches against Edinboro, Gannon and Mercyhurst.
