LOCK HAVEN – Senior Sarah Roscioli placed third in the 50 free and sophomore Sami Vavra turned in a pair of top-four finishes as East Stroudsburg University's women's swimming team competed in a quad meet at Lock Haven on Friday and Saturday.

Roscioli, ESU's record holder in the 50, 100 and 200 breast stroke, swam a time of 25.72 in the 50 free. Vavra was third in the 100 back (1:02.32), one-tenth of a second off her PSAC qualifying time at last week's Millersville Relays, and was fourth in the 100 breast (1:11.24). Roscioli was seven-hundredths of a second behind Vavra in the 100 breast to place fifth.

Sophomore Kimberly Lawson was fourth in the 100 fly (1:02.54) and was sixth in both the 100 free and 200 fly. Other top performances came from freshman Allison Schafer, who was fifth in the 200 free and sixth in the 500 free, and senior Amy Rowland, who placed sixth in the 200 free just behind Schafer.

The Warriors had one second-place relay in the quartet of sophomore Tara Robinson, freshman Andrea Tremper, Lawson and Roscioli, which swam a time of 1:42.20 in the 200 free relay.

ESU was third in the other three relays in the field of four schools, which included California, Kutztown and Lock Haven. Kutztown scored 772 points, just edging California's total of 757 points.

The Warriors' performances are below. They will be back in action next Saturday in a tri-meet with Kutztown at Misericordia.
