Box Score

CHARLESTON, W.V. – Junior forward Megan Keiser scored the game's only goal, freshman Nicki Keiser had five saves and East Stroudsburg University posted its fourth straight shutout for the first time since 1993 with a 1-0 win at Charleston on Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors improve to 8-7-1 with their fourth straight win and have blanked their opponents since a 2-1 loss to then-No. 5 California on Oct. 10, a span of 371 minutes.

The four-game shutout streak is the Warriors' longest since recording five straight shutouts in 1993, the second year of the varsity women's soccer program. ESU won 1-0 at IUP last Saturday, then posted three shutouts this week – 4-0 vs. Chestnut Hill on Wednesday, 3-0 at Mansfield on Saturday and Sunday's 1-0 win.

Charleston (11-4-1) was 10th in last week's NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings and lost for the first time since Sept. 18, going 8-0-1 in its last nine games. ESU held a 13-7 advantage in shots and Catherine Perry made seven saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.

Megan Keiser scored in the 12th minute for her third goal of the year and second in as many games to give the Warriors an early lead, and the goal stood up over the final 78 minutes. Sophomore midfielder Breanne Ingargiola notched her fifth career assist.

Nicki Keiser has started three of the last four games during the shutout streak and has a 0.44 goals against average and .926 save percentage. She had seven saves in the shutout at IUP and two saves at Mansfield on Saturday.

Megan has scored all three of her goals this season in her sister's four starts, beginning with the game's first goal in the loss to California that put the Vulcans behind for the first time all season.

The Warriors enter the final week of the regular season needing wins over Kutztown and Bloomsburg to earn their fourth straight trip to the PSAC playoffs. They host Kutztown (11-3-1) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in a game that was rescheduled from last Tuesday, and battle Bloomsburg (10-3-3) on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the regular season finale.
