MILLERSVILLE – Lindsay Hinton made 21 saves, the third-most in Division II this season, to keep No. 3 East Stroudsburg University off the board until early in the second half before the Warriors scored twice for a 2-0 win over Limestone (S.C.) in a neutral site non-conference field hockey game on Sunday afternoon.

Senior forward Jessica Frantz scored ESU's first goal just over five minutes into the second half to become the fourth player in school history to record 20 goals in a season.

Frantz achieved the feat in the first 10 games of the year, leading the Warriors (10-0) to the longest winning streak in school history and pacing the nation in scoring at the midpoint of her senior season. She is nine goals away from the school record of 29 set by Ashley Kocis in 2006.

Senior midfielder Joanna Reckley added her fourth goal of the season and the 12th of her career to push the margin to 2-0 midway through the second half. Reckley also had the assist on Frantz's goal on a penalty corner.

ESU held advantages of 35-3 in shots and 27-2 in penalty corners over Limestone (2-7), but didn't find the cage until Frantz's goal on the 24th shot of the afternoon. The Warriors' 27 penalty corners are their most since posting 27 in a 5-0 win over IUP in 2003.

Hinton had 15 of her 21 saves in the first half and fell just short of the top two performances in Division II in 2010. Assumption's Danielle Luongo had 24 saves vs. Mercyhurst on the first weekend of the year, and Megan Sullivan of St. Anselm had 23 in a game against Merrimack.

The Warriors were coming off a 3-2 win at Bloomsburg on Saturday in which they were outshot 14-4 but came away with their first win over the four-time defending national champions since 2005.

ESU will have six days off from competition before returning to the field next Saturday with a 1 p.m. start against Mercyhurst at Whitenight Field.
