EAST STROUDSBURG – Seniors
Brianne Bachman and
Emily Detter both had four kills and Detter moved into ESU's career top 10 in aces in her final match as East Stroudsburg University beat Cheyney, 3-0, to close the 2010 women's volleyball season on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Bachman and Detter, high school teammates at Red Lion, finished their careers for the Warriors, along with
Lindsey Lullo and
Alyson Stark. The quartet was honored before Friday night's match against Kutztown and all four saw action in their final match at ESU.
All four finish with at least one entry on the Warriors' career top 10 – Stark in kills (4th, 1029) and blocks (8th, 205); Lullo in digs (2nd, 1611); Bachman in blocks (5th, 226); and Detter in aces (8th, 102). Detter had five aces to edge Stark out of that category, as Stark finished her career with 99 aces – one outside of the top 10.
Stark had one kill against Cheyney to move into a tie for 10th in kills in a single season with 323. A two-time All-PSAC East selection, Stark was the Warriors' top hitter in kills per game during all four years of her career.
Lullo finishes the year third in single-season digs with 599 and averaged 5.0 digs per set. Her average of 5.7 digs per set last season was fourth-best at ESU and helped her land a spot on the AVCA All-Region team after ranking eighth in Division II.
Sophomores
Jennifer Forbes and
Kristina Perri led ESU (10-26, 4-15) with six kills each against Cheyney. Sophomore
Kaitlin Behrens had five kills and freshman setter
Allye Preziosi had 27 assists to close the season with 876 assists, ninth-best at ESU.
