EAST STROUDSBURG – Binghamton won nine of the 10 bouts to take a 35-3 win over East Stroudsburg University in dual action on Thursday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.
The Bearcats had two first-period pins, from Tyler Malmberg at 133 and Nate Schiedel at 184, and posted a pair of major decisions at 125 and 174 to improve to 14-6-1 on the season, while ESU is 8-8.
Sophomore
Eddie Stephenson had a takedown in the final 10 seconds for a 4-3 decision over Anthony Jerome at 149 pounds for the Warriors' three points. Stephenson picked up his fifth dual win of the season and improved to 7-14 on the year.
Redshirt sophomore
Thad Frick and Binghamton's Donnie Vinson hooked up in a match-up of 20-win wrestlers at 157 in the best match of the afternoon. Vinson (29-10) rode out Frick in the third period to pick up the riding time point and earn a 3-2 decision. Frick is 21-10, has an 8-2 record in the Warriors' last 10 duals and is 11-4 in duals on the season.
ESU hosts Kutztown in its final dual of the year next Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors are No. 7 in the most recent Division II East Region poll, while Kutztown checks in at No. 5.
