MECHANICSBURG – East Stroudsburg University senior
Christine Swiker broke her own school record in the 200 IM and contributed to the record-setting 400 medley relay team on Friday at the 2010 PSAC Swimming Championships at Cumberland Valley High School.
Swiker's time of 2:09.20 in the morning prelim session of the 200 fly was more than two seconds faster than the record of 2:11.54 that she set in last year's prelims. She was seeded third entering the finals and finished fifth (2:10.73), moving up two spots from her junior season.
Swiker reached the NCAA “B” standard in the event and hit the “B” cut in the 200 and 400 IM while setting both school records at last year's championships. She will swim compete in the 400 IM on Saturday and the 200 fly on Sunday.

Tara Robinson (free) clocked a time of 4:05.62 and lowered the record of 4:06.97 that was set in 2004 by Natalie Weingartner, Kelly Wright, Lindsey Reese and Tori Bayliff.
The 200 free relay – Robinson, junior
Amy Rowland, Lawson and Roscioli – also swam a season-best time, finishing in 1:40.32. Both relays were 11th overall.
Four Warriors competed in the 50 free in the prelims –Roscioli (19th, 24.79), Rowland (41st, 25.64), Robinson (43rd, 25.79) and senior
Heather Van O'Linda (t-48th, 26.27). Roscioli's time was more than a half-second faster than her season best of 25.35 that she swam two weeks ago at the ESU Invitational.
The championships continue on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday afternoon in central Pennsylvania.
