WEST CHESTER – West Chester put five players in double figures and earned a PSAC playoff spot with an 88-69 win over East Stroudsburg University in the Warriors' 2009-10 women's basketball season finale on Saturday afternoon.

Barb Borst scored 17 points, senior guard
Mel Villano had 14 and senior forward
DeAnna Rayam had 11 points and a career-high six assists for ESU, which finishes the season with a 4-23 record under acting head coach

Rayam closes her career with 1,046 points, 12th in school history. She was 7-for-9 at the foul line and made 143 free throws during her senior season, the second-most in a year at ESU behind Claudine Simard, who made 192 in 1991-92. Her 349 career free throws are fifth all-time. Rayam led the Warriors in scoring (14.3 ppg), rebounding (6.0 rpg) and assists (70) this season.
Villano was in double figures for the 10th time this season and averaged a career-high 7.8 points per game. She started all 106 games that she played in for the Warriors, which included ESU's 2006-07 PSAC East regular season championship team and the 2007-08 PSAC playoff team.
Senior center
Alexa Detzi had four points, three rebounds and one block in her final game for ESU, ranking sixth in career blocks (52) and tied for sixth in single-season blocks (33).
Borst hit double figures in six of the Warriors' eight games in February, including each of the last five. She made 37 three-pointers on the season and was 22-for-37 (59.5 percent) over the final month, averaging 12.1 points per game. Borst finished the year as ESU's third-leading scorer with 7.0 points per game and shot 37.8 percent from long distance.
ESU's 69 points were one off its season-high of 70 in a win over Salem International at the Pocono Classic. The Warriors made nine three-pointers – four by Borst, two each from Villano and sophomore forward
Jennifer Scherer and one by redshirt sophomore forward
Brittany McClain – to tie its season-best against Kutztown last week.
Renata Neal led West Chester with 16 points, followed by Natalie Winters (13), Allison Hostetter (12), Dominique Adams (10) and Jillian Keefer (10). The Golden Rams shot 50 percent from the field and were 7-for-13 from the three-point line. Bridget Carlin added eight assists and West Chester had 19 steals.
