HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Upper Iowa won 9-8 at both second and third doubles to post a 6-3 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference women's tennis on Tuesday. The women posted a 9-0 win over Young Harris (Ga.) on Wednesday, while the men fell to Charleston and Young Harris by 6-3 scores.

Against Upper Iowa, the Warriors received a pair of singles wins in third-set tiebreakers from freshmen Amy McGrath at No. 5 and Rabecca Lausch at No. 6 and an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles by juniors Katie D'Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno, but Upper Iowa won the first four singles spots and the final two doubles pairings for a 6-3 win.

Sophomore Amanda Kaufman had a 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 win at first singles against Young Harris and the rest of the lineup won in straight sets as ESU improved to 6-4 on the season. D'Ambrosia, Ferrigno and freshman Alex Santoro won at the second through fourth spots and McGrath and Lausch also posted wins at the bottom of the lineup.

All three doubles teams won by an 8-2 score – D'Ambrosia/Ferrigno at No. 1, Kaufman/Santoro at No. 2 and McGrath/Lausch at No. 3.

Graduate student James Norris (No. 2) and junior Jared Rosenberg (No. 3) won their singles matches for the ESU men against Charleston, and Rosenberg and sophomore Seth Heller had an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

Rosenberg (No. 3) and sophomore Mark Covert (No. 4) won their singles matches vs. Young Harris. Covert and junior Zach Ontell posted a 9-7 win at third doubles.

ESU finishes its southern swing with matches on Thursday, with the men against Malone (Ohio) and the women facing PSAC West member IUP.
