EAST STROUDSBURG – Allie Kakareka scored three of her four goals in the first half and Shelby Iezzi made 20 saves to lead Bloomsburg to a 13-5 win over East Stroudsburg University in the PSAC East lacrosse opener for both schools on Wednesday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
Kakareka helped the Huskies (3-1, 1-0) outshoot ESU (2-1, 0-1) by a 22-14 margin in the first half as they opened an 8-2 lead. Bloomsburg scored the first four goals of the game, the first two by Samantha King and the next two by Kakareka, who added her third goal of the half at the 14-minute mark for a 6-1 advantage.
Lyndsey Babilon scored three goals, all in the first 10 minutes of the second half, as Bloomsburg went ahead 11-2 before the Warriors scored three times late in the contest.

Molly O'Hara scored in the second half. O'Hara was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week earlier in the day on Wednesday after scoring seven goals in a pair of victories to open the season last week in North Carolina.
Iezzi had 10 saves in each half while facing 28 shots by the Warriors, who were 2-for-9 on free position attempts. Bloomsburg was credited with 35 shots, with sophomore

Katie Zollo had five saves in her first career action in goal in the second half.
