ESU Field Hockey Presents Check to Susan G. Komen Foundation

3/18/2010 12:00:00 AM

EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University field hockey program made a $2,000 donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Northeastern Pennsylvania with funds raised from gate money, t-shirt sales and a bake sale in conjunction with their “Think Pink” event against Bloomsburg last fall.

Head coach Sandy Miller, assistant coach Jane Koeniges, graduate assistant Katie Ritter and members of the team made the presentation to Dolly Woodie, the Executive Director of the Northeast Pennsylvania chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, at halftime of ESU's home basketball game against West Chester in January.

The Warriors donned pink jerseys for their games against Bloomsburg and Slippery Rock last season. They also wore pink wristbands and socks that were donated by Schuylkill Valley Sports and sold “Think Pink” t-shirts to supplement the proceeds raised by the bake sale and gate receipts.
